Honoring Our Senior Ticktockers
By Candace Winslow, PR Co-Chair

On Sunday, February 25, Senior Ticktockers and their families gathered at the Belo Mansion for the NCL Senior Presentation Program. This annual tradition for the Heart of Dallas Chapter is a time to reflect and to celebrate the contributions of the graduating Ticktockers and their six- year investment in our chapter and in our community.

Each Senior Ticktocker was presented on stage by NCL President Michelle Adams. As her name was called, the Senior Ticktocker, dressed in a white formal dress, walked on stage as
a personal video montage of pictures of her volunteering in the community displayed in the background. Ticktockers shared their favorite memories and agencies in which they served in the video, as well as thanked those who have made an impact in their lives thus far. Ticktocker parents and family members joined their graduating senior on stage as part of the formal presentation.

Post the presentation, a reception was held for the Senior Ticktockers and their families that offered a very fun, creative menu. Bite-sized pizzas in individual boxes, chicken and waffles, sushi and a variety of mini desserts were served during the reception. Senior Ticktocker President Reagan Mays gave a wonderful tribute speech to her fellow Ticktockers and each girl received her final Ticktocker Service Award. Caroline Winslow was honored with the “Ticktocker Spirit Award,” for the senior girl who most embodies the spirit of NCL. Each mother and daughter were given a framed 8×10 copy of their Senior Presentation Program photo as a keepsake.

Many thanks go to co-chairs Kim Brannon and Gina Culpepper and their committee for planning such a wonderful afternoon, which was truly a gift for all the graduating Ticktockers and their families. This time honored tradition is a hallmark of the Heart of Dallas chapter and one that concludes the senior Ticktocker’s season of serving others so beautifully. The Class of 2018 wishes all their fellow Ticktockers continued years of fun and fulfillment as they serve others so well!

2018 Mother Daughter Tea, Northwood Club

On October 28th, the Heart of Dallas chapter of the National Charity League held its annual Mother Daughter Tea and Fashion Show at Northwood Club. All participants celebrated a wonderful opportunity to not only enjoy each other’s company, but also delicious treats and beautiful tablescapes all while viewing hot fashion items from Athleta, Bandier, MARKET, and Alice + Olivia.

Each high school class of Heart of Dallas played a special role in the day’s activities. The Freshman class addressed each invitation and managed responses, the Sophomore class served as beautiful models, the Junior class organized and managed a drive to benefit Meals on Wheels, while the Seniors presented each of the lovely models during the fashion show.

Special thanks goes to the Heart of Dallas Tea Committee for hosting such a beautiful and memorable event including Chairs Holly Cooksey and Megan Wood with their fabulous team: Christi Houser, Whitney Madine, Jana McAnally, Laura McCoy, Amy Reardon, Judi Stewart, Carolyn Taylor, Kristi Wilson, Dana Woram, and Meredith Zevallos.
